UPW Boron Analyzer
Your View of Boron is About to Change . . . With a limit of detection of 15 parts-per-trillion boron and up to 10 samples per hour, continuous boron monitoring in ultrapure water has just become very affordable and remarkably convenient. The Sievers UPW Boron Analyzer even exceeds ICP-MS performance (see Progress Report on New On-line Boron Analyzer Research), and does it at a fraction of the cost. A true "plug-and-play" instrument, the boron analyzer can be installed in less than an hour, requires no skilled or trained operator, and provides the sensitivity and accuracy of ICP-MS or on-line Ion Chromatography. A built-in multiplexor even allows for monitoring of up to four sample streams with customizable settings for each stream. Where is the Sievers UPW Boron Analyzer being used? At the outlet of primary mixed-resin beds. Boron is released from these beds prior to silica (see Boron-related technical papers), and continuous monitoring of bed effluent provides operators with the earliest indication of changing bed conditions and bed exhaustion. At the outlet of polishing resins. The earliest indicator of polishing resin exhaustion, and a potential contaminant in wafer processing, real-time boron data from the polishing bed effluent is critical to today's advanced fabrication facilities. At the outlet of Electrodeionization units. A well-run EDI balances power consumption against contaminant removal. Boron is weakly ionic, and is a critical indicator of EDI performance (see two technical papers by Steve Chen). Regeneration processes. An expected source of boron in any UPW system is regenerated resins. Boron specifications for regenerated resins help ensure the lowest possible boron loading of UPW systems, thus minimizing future regenerations and polish resin contaminant loading. For detailed information on the Boron Analyzer, please click here or on the main navigation menu above.

Air Quality Monitoring
Many applications exist where there is a requirement for monitoring ambient or outdoor air quality with respect of Particulates (PM10, PM2.5) gases and solvents or Polyaromatic Hydrocarbons PAHâs. Local and national governments often establish regional or national networks of monitoring stations, whilst industrial processes such as landfill, construction / demolition operations may require monitoring data to evaluate their impact on the local environment. Systems come in a variety of enclosures and configurations and may be located on site boundaries, by roadsides for traffic pollution monitoring, or in rural locations to establish background pollution levels.
Air Sampling

All pumps are fully accredited for use for sampling and undertaking risk assesments to HSE-MDHS, EH40, NIOSH and other national sampling methodologies. For use by professional Industrial Hygienists, Occupational Health Safety and Environment managers.
Indoor Air Quality
With many people spending up to 90% of their working life indoors, it is important to monitor the Indoor Air Quality (IAQ). Parameters of special interest are Temperature, Humidity, Air Velocity, CO, CO2 and Ozone. Regular monitoring ensures compliance with WHO guidelines and can help reduce work related sicknesss or Sick Building Syndrome (SBS).
Noise
Noise instruments for either monitoring workplace or environmental noise. Noise is monitored in the workplace to protect an employee from hearing loss. This can be done by personally worn products (dosimeters) or hand held sound level meters. The selection of the required hearing protection can also be performed via the use of these instruments.
VORTEX Ultra Flow
The problem of asbestos is still with us and is the subject of stringent legislation for its removal and disposal. The requirement for quick sample collection and counting of airborne fibre in the shortest time possible means a far higher flow rate than with more conventional sampling methods is required. The VORTEX Ultra Flow is designed with this application in mind but also retains the portability of personal samplers.
Challenge Technology

AER-200S Soil-Compost Respirometer
The Challenge AER-200S Soil/Compost Respirometer is ideally suited to determine rates of oxygen uptake or anoxic gas production rates in soil or compost samples - as may occur in upper layers of soil under natural conditions or in mixed compost reactors. The AER-200S Soil/Compost Respirometer can provide useful information for determining steps in soil bio-remediation. Many companies are developing products that assist or increase the degradation rate of toxic chemicals. This unit can provide quick and easy quantitative data to support such claims. This unit can also help municipal and industrial sites that need to understand the gas production rates of the dried solids. This objective is accomplished with a perforated sample column in a sealed reactor column. Soil Column Specifications Soil, Compost, and Bio-Solid testing equipment must overcome two important principals: Stagnant air gradients and temperature control. Challenge created a convenient two chamber system to do just that. Reactor Column: The reactor chamber allows for a headspace around the entire sample and allows for maximum surface area resulting in maximum oxygen uptake rates. Sample Column: The sample column serves three major functions. The base of the sample column is a unique magnetic coupled fan that works in conjunction with the MS-300 Magnetic Stirrer. This feature allows the air to be circulated in and around the sample without injecting or removing air from the reactor eliminating stagnant atmosphere gradients. The sample column is a perforated cylinder that allows for maximum surface-to-reactor contact. The sample column cap functions as the KOH well for carbon dioxide absorption for measurements or anaerobic measurements when methane values are required. Click here for the AR-295 Diagram. The AER-200S uses easy and reliable luer fittings for all connections. The need for messy greases and special configurations are eliminated. This system can measure aerobic and anaerobic reactions very easily by changing the position of two connections at the measuring cell. The reactor column has two ports purging the head space. Stirring speeds are unified across all samples with a single control dial. Temperature control is critical for any respirometric study, so Challenge Technology recommends the use of either a temperature controlled environmental chamber or a heater/cooler and water bath such as the H/C-230 and W/C-200. The W/C-200 sits on the stirrer base without compromising magnetic stirring efficiency. The H/C-230 is then used to circulate the water throughout the entire bath to maintain consistent and stable temperatures. Challenge recommends a circulating heating/cooling unit for uniform temperature as opposed to immersion heaters that can produce pockets of differing temperatures. The AER-200S is available in a 4-Reactor set and 8-Reactor Set. For individuals already owning the AER-200 Respirometer, the Soil/Compost Column can be ordered individually (AR-295). For more information about the measuring system and capabilities see the AER-200 Aerobic/Anaerobic Respirometer
MS-300 Magnetic Stirrer
A key component to respirometric testing is the oxygen transfer limit. So, Challenge Technology experimented with many stirrers, but found that all the stirring units available could not reach the high speeds required without the risk of spin-off and possibly nullifying an entire test. So, Challenge set out to create the best multi-position stirrer available.
OLR-300 On-Line Respirometer
The OLR-300 On-Line Respirometer is a true "on-line" respirometer which gives oxygen uptake rates for treatment plant operations.

H2NS Environmental Inc
DataLink-CEM
Environmental Data Acquisition Software - Continuous Emissions Monitoring / Process Monitoring FEATURES: Windows 98/NT™ Operating System Easy To Use Open Data Structure Real Time Data Reduction, Validation and Presentation Flexible Reporting and Data Analysis Tools CEMS, 40CFR 60, 64, 503 PEMS and Parameter Monitoring Graphical Data Presentations Interfaces to, H2NS-CPP-3794, Odessa DSM Series Remote Modem Access Realizing today's ever evolving environmental regulations have placed increasingly more complex data acquisition and reporting requirements on the non-scientific user, H2NS is pleased to present DataLink. This software program is flexible and extremely easy to use. The Windows NT™ operating system is the system of choice for mission critical applications in industry. Realizing that not all applications require all the bells and whistles our software is capable of, we have modularized the package so the user can select the module best fitting his application and budget. DataLink contains four separate modules. They are: Configuration Explorer which is essentially the system configuration such as channel assignments, alarms, etc., Scheduler, which is the summary report setup for manual or automatic generation of reports, Data Monitor, which is the display of real time data and alarms with the capability to print summary reports. Data Explorer, coupled with Data Monitor, provides a complete data acquisition, alarming and reporting package. Data Explorer can export data or save reports to file. For CEM applications, DataLink is designed to give operators a real time picture of their process. The data acquisition device is polled and the displays are updated as fast as each 5 seconds. This real time compensation, averaging, calibration results and data validity determination informs the operator of an impending problem so that corrective action can be taken before they develop. The alarming and real time tracking allows for archiving and entry of reasons and actions codes. Data is displayed in either trend or tabular format. The Windows NT™ operating system ensures true pre-emptive multi-tasking, Data are collected at all times regardless of data analysis or report generation activity. All data collected by DataLink is stored in an open database structure. this typically consists of quarterly Microsoft Foxpro 3.0 Database files. DataLink can also be interfaced with corporate database systems such as Oracle™ and Microsoft SQL-Server™. Data may also be exported to Microsoft Excel or Microsoft Access. DataLink incorporates a variety of reports including: excess emissions, analyzer downtime or out of control periods. Required regulatory, pre-formatted reports, are only a mouse click away. The "ad-hoc" query tool allows for complex queries of the database. This tool allows the user to select the criteria for any type of report, generate it, and output it to an external data base( Excel, Access, etc). Reports also may be output to a printer, Lotus spreadsheets, the resident database or simply as text files. DataLink allows for the full range of data retrieval, data archiving, data editing, calibration reports, alarming, and real time data display. Pre-formatted regulatory reports are standard. The "ad-hoc" report feature is standard. The New Jersey state regulatory reports are automatically produced. Other state reports are in process of development. Also coming soon is the automatic preparation of the new reports required under the "NOX Budget Program". These reports will be transferred to the applicable regulatory agency be electronic means.
Environmental Monitoring and Meteorological Studies
H2NS Environmental Inc. is pleased to present DataLink/AQM,-RT a truly new concept for environmental monitoring and meteorological studies. DataLink/AQM-RT incorporates the latest technologies while maintaining tradition for the tenured environmental professional. H2NS has added an exciting, new capability, to this proven package of Data Acquisition Software. This package allows for automated and manual polling of an H2NS CPP-3794, plus a variety of other manufacturers data loggers, either by direct connect or telephone modem. In the Real Time mode, operators can view data in a variety of formats with updates as frequent as 10 seconds. Retrieved data is stored in a data base that can be edited and exported to popular spread sheets such as Access? or Excel?. Data analysis includes tabular summary reports with a max-min, interval average and total summary. Presentations include trend charts, bar graphs tabular and graphical reports. Graphical reports include wind rose, pollution rose and 3D graphs. DataLink/AQM-RT takes all the hassle out of configuring the software to match the specific data logger configuration. Using DataLink/AQM-RT you simply connect to a data logger and DataLink-RT commands the logger to download it’s configuration. The configuration is saved as unique to that location. DataLink also allows reset of the logger time to match the computer time or allows the logger to reset the computer time.
H2NS Environmental Presents the CPP-4794 - The Next Generation
Serial Data Collection The CPP-4794 represents the next generation of data logging and offers serial interfacing to instruments as well as supporting the traditional analog approach using an analog to digital converter. Over a single RS-232 cable, the CPP can collect data, status and control the calibrations of connected instrumentation. This approach simplifies wiring, documentation and increases system reliability. In those instruments that support a time/date download, the CPP keeps the entire system time synchronized. Pass Through to Instruments The CPP-4794 also offers an unabated pass through mode that allows a user to make a direct connection with an instrument that is connected to the CPP, passing signals through the CPP, unabated. This allows manufacturer supplied diagnostic routines to be conducted on instruments from a remote location, e.g., your facility or even the instrument manufacturer’s facility. The CPP continues to collect data from all other connected instrumentation. 12 Independent Serial Ports Up to 12 independent serial ports can be installed in the CPP. One serial port is used for an on site operator, another is used to communicate and transfer data to a central polling facility. The remainder of the serial ports can be used to interface to instrumentation. One of the ports can be used to provide a Modbus output from the CPP, or other special protocols, as needed. Data Storage/Security The battery backed, internal memory in the CPP can store over 3,000 data values for ten channels. For hourly averages, this translates into 3,000 hours of data for ten channels. However, given all that can happen at a remote location such as power surges, brownouts, lightning, and operator mishaps, the CPP also offers data storage on a 64meg, industrial grade, Compact Flash Memory Card. This provides an additional degree of buffering from circumstances that can affect data collected and stored on site. Years of hourly data can be stored on the Compact Flash Memory Card.
