| KAPPA FESS - Safe and fast detecting and effective extinguishing of fire sources The innovative KAPPA FESS fire protection system for filters functions on the basis of a three-staged and very effective fire-extinguishing system.
In the first stage, the system detects a fire source in the filter by means of temperature control at online and offline service, without any risk of indication error.
In the second stage, the system limits the developing fire to a small surface. For this, atomised water spray is used, which has the advantage of spreading in the entire filter within short time, thus withdrawing much energy from the fire.
In the third phase, the already reduced fire source is extinguished by the injection of inert gases. The combination of cooling and inert gas injection prevents the fire from re-igniting.
