Tradition1894 - founded as a small builder's and fitter's shop by master fitter Ludwig Binder in Graz-Eggenberg. In the 1920s, the company specialised in iron constructions and was led through the turmoil of the world economic crisis of the 1930s by the son-in-law of the founder, Dr. Alois Sernetz, who took over the management in 1926. After the recession years, an economic revival occurred in the 1940s, and out of this the company developed into a medium-sized enterprise. The 1950s up to the present time was a groundbreaking period for the development of the company. In 1954, under the management of Dr. Alois Sernetz's son, Dr. Heinz Sernetz, the "Binder system" was developed for resonance screening machines. The "Binder system" became a name which even today has not lost its importance. In 1960, building of the new shops and offices in Gleisdorf was begun and one year later the first machine tools were put into operation. In 1971, Binder+Co set another milestone in its history. It was incorporated into the nationalised VOEST Alpine Group for purposes of world-wide marketing. For the first time ever, the export share of production exceeded the 50% mark in the 1973. For 20 years Binder+Co was a successful public-sector provider of products in the field of processing of bulk materials of all kinds, as also in the recycling industry. In 1991, the company was privatised again and came under majority ownership of the private Austrian AURICON Beteiligungs AG. In 1998, AURICON sold Binder+Co to its sister company, Waagner-Biro AG. In 1999 the core divisions of Waagner-Biro Binder AG were spun off into an independent joint stock company. Binder+Co AG has existed since this time as an independent company, since the 31. 12. 2006 under 63% ownership of Waagner-Biro AG. Today, Binder+Co is world-wide technological leader in the field of waste glass processing, and with the top product BIVITEC also a market leader in the field of separation of bulk materials difficult to screen. These core products are supplemented by products of drying technology and high-performance packaging technology.

| Bag palletizing PRINCIPAL, the automatic high-level bag palletizing system, expands Binder+Co's packaging technology product range by a decisive element. It is a full solution system tailored to meet the customer's individual demands. This system was developed by the company itself and allows the packaging and handling of bulk material using state-of-the-art technology, and producing the quality that is so well known. The promising concept of the modular bag palletizing system PRINCIPAL is based on many years of Binder+Co experience in the field of packaging technology and was produced in close cooperation with the US subsidiaries, Packaging Systems International, and numerous customers. Special construction details in combination with modern, high-quality drive and control technology components bring decisive benefits and make it possible to take even more consideration of customer-specific requirements. Features of the system: Optimal use of spatial conditions through the modular design Maximum system flexibility on account of the elevator with turntable that can be charged or loaded from all sides Stable, rectangular stacking contour facilitated by innovative automation technology Minimized maintenance expenditure through the use of standardized low-maintenance components Variability of layer patterns for up to 10 bags per layer. User-friendly layer creation and modification using the "Teach-In" function. Fields of application: Salt, chemical industry Fertilizers Petrochemical industry Sand, mortar, cement Sugar, rice Animal food Seeds Garden soil, peat etc. Bag types: Valve bags, gusseted bags, and pillow bags in various sizes and weights made of paper, polyethylene, and woven polypropylene. Capacity: Up to 2400bags per hour (depending on type |
| Bagging ABF / SPK Binder + Co AG developed a bagging machine of the ABF/SPK family to cope with the special requirements in this area. For the past 20 years this concept has been further developed and optimized so the machines are able to cope easily with higher requirements relative to quality, operating efficiency, and reliability. Shortcuts and generous diameters allow maximum availability and operating safety, even during. Fields of application: Maximum flexibility in choice of bag type, material, and type of bag seal Optimal adjustment to various products Gentle product handling by using a swivel clamp High performance through straight-line processes, short distances, and generous diameters Maximal line availability thanks to the monitoring of all processes Simple use through straightforward menu control layout Typical applications: fertilizers salt, chemical industry petrochemistry sand, mortar sugar, rice, corn meal seed fodder etc. Package weights: 10 to 80 kg (depending on weight of bulk material) Bag types: pillow bags made from PE, woven PP, paper, and gunny gusseted bags made from PE, woven PP, and paper Performance: Up to 1400 bags an hour E-mail: |
| Glass recycling Environmental technology is a very future-oriented science. The service range we offer for glass recycling includes machines that separate waste glass shards from other material and then sort the glass according to colour as well as project development and the construction of entire waste glass processing plants. Binder+Co has been involved in glass processing for almost 20 years. The visual separation of impurities soon followed separation according to size using vibration machines soon after. With its separators of the CSP series, Binder+Co supplies top-end technology on a global scale - for the separation of ceramic, stone, or porcelain (CSP). CLARITY by Binder+Co was the world's first three-way solution for the colour separation of waste glass to go to market. Using a high-resolution camera system, which is able to recognise a wide colour spectrum, the shards are separated according to colour in one work step while CSP impurities is removed. CLARITY - the world's leading colour separation technology! A separation system for whole bottles completes the Binder+Co environmental engineering product range. Technological and procedural know-how is applied for the construction of complete turn-key glass processing facilities. The biggest processors of the world rely on the competence of Binder+Co. |
| Plastics Sorting The Sorting of plastics is one of Binder+Co´s main topics. Packaging ordinance, recede of fossile raw materials, landfill directives and changing legal conditions are the base of an increasing demand on secondary raw materials. Binder+Co´s experience in the sorting of plastic goes back to the year 1995, when the company was awarded the „Erzherzog-Johann-Price“ of the Styrian Economy Society for the realization of a turnkey plastic recycling plant. The main focus of Binder+Co´s Environmental technology department is the processing of the Light Packaging fraction and the Energy Supply Contributes. Besides the sorting of mixed valued materials, like paper, covered and non-covered cardboard in various combinations the segregation by the kind of plastic is of the essence. Materials are collected for reuse in various different collection systems. Waste streams are devided in single material flows. The cleaner such fraction, the better it can be reused in the production - circle. Plastic materials like PET, PE, PP, PVC or Tetra Pack, but also Paper or cardboarddiffer in their chemical and physical consistence. They can be identified by their spectral information. Therefore a highly sophisticated NIR – Camerasystem is used and a process of image-guided spectroscopy. Once a clean fraction is produced it can additionally be sorted by its colour, optionally by using a transmission – or an incident light system. In addtition to that the machines can be equipped with non-ferrous metal sensors. The brand of Binder+Co´s plastic-sorting systems is CRITERION.
