Solmax's experience

Since 1997, over 100 000 MT of Solmax polyethylene geomembranes have been used in thousands of projects around the world (~70 million m² of 1.5 mm)

Since 1983, Solmax field technicians have successfully installed well over 30 000 MT of polyethylene geomembranes in accordance with the highest industry standards (20~ million m² of 1.5mm geomembranes).

Environment

Nations around the world are increasingly concerned about their natural heritage. Government policies now hold industries accountable for any environmental harm they cause, and make them responsible for preventing any such damage.

By offering geosynthetic solutions to complex problems such as fluids seeping into the soil and the contamination of potable water, Solmax International fully subscribes to these preventive measures and its social and environmental responsibility. We accept this challenge and work toward preserving the integrity of our natural resources.

Environmental policy

Solmax International manages its commercial activities in compliance with environmental standards. The ongoing improvement of our performance is driven by our environmental objectives.

Solmax undertake to:

Manage its activities in such a way as to meet all regulations, prevent negative impacts on the environment and reduce pollution
Identify ways of improving our processes and make the necessary adjustments
Inform and incite management and employees to adopt an environmentally friendly attitude
Promote this attitude within our network and with our partners
Periodically make sure that our management decisions comply with this policy as well as rules and regulations, and inform the board of directors of the situation.

2009-2010 objectives:

Maintain the same level of water consumption and waste generation than last year;
Decrease our paper consumption by 10% in comparison with 2008-09;
Organize and implement among the employees an environmental initiative by trimester
By reducing our waste generation, decrease the recycling by 10%
