The BKP Berolina Polyester GmbH & Co. GK is one of the internationally most innovative companies offering a system of sewer pipe rehabilitation without trenching. We are setting standards in the development and production of tube liners which are versatile in use together with the technical equipment necessary for the installation.

The Berlin company was founded in 1961 and has specialised successfully in the use of glass fibre reinforced plastic (GRP). Apart from the main business field of rehabilitation of wastewater and stormwater pipes BKP business fields stretch to building tanks and vessels for private and industrial use and providing the comprehensive equipment for industrial plants.

One example of our successful projects in transmission line construction is the pipeline connection of the oil rig “Mittelplatte” with the Landstation Dieksand in Friedrichskoog. The GRP-lining of the stainless steel pipes for the transportation of oil which began in 2005 was produced by BKP. This project demanded the highest quality and safety standards as the pipeline connection passes through the National Park Schleswig-Holstein Wadden Sea.

Tube lining the chosen method for pipe rehabilitation

The tube lining is now established as the convincing and leading method of trenchless pipe rehabilitation.
The method developed and patented by BKP of tube lining production based on glass fibre strengthened plastic is unique worldwide. Our high grade composite materials combine a high chemical consistency with extreme stiffness and durability.
Independent experts have attested that our main product, the Berolina-Liner, is of excellent quality. In a benchmark test for the watertightness of pipe liners the Berolina-Liner came first.
The specialized equipment for the installation of the Berolina-Liner is provided by the HC Pipe Tex GmbH, a company which we founded together with a Swiss engineering firm in order to offer our customers a complete service of high quality. Liner and equipment have been fine-tuned with each other. This enables us to give our customers a guarantee for a complete professionally installed final product. Due to the outstanding product features of the Berolina-Liner, the advantages of the overall system offered by us and our customer orientation we continue to expand domestically and internationally.

The production of the Berolina-Liner for the worldwide market has been certified according to DIN EN ISO 9001:2000 and is checked regularly by the TÜV.
Many countries have certified the Berolina-Liner. In Germany the German Institute for structural engineering has licensed this type of construction.
Not only the production but also the installation of the liner is subject to comprehensive quality control, for instance by monitoring with a TV-camera during and after the hardening. All installation steps are documented electronically with the help of specific software.

Protection of the environment is of particular concern to us. Production, transport and installation of the Berolina-Liner demand only a minimum of energy and other resources.
There are no emissions of Styrene during the production of the Liner. Compared with other hardening methods the curing with UV light causes by far the lowest CO2 emission. This is environmentally friendly and reduces costs at the same time.
