The SATTLER Group is an international family-owned firm headquatered in Austria. We are the world´s leading manufacturer of highTEX products, especially for outdoor use, and SATTLER is also leading in the planning and implementation of membrane constructions.
The SATTLER Group ranks among the top European manufacturers of technical textiles and is the world´s leading supplier of sun protection fabrics. In addition to our headquaters in Graz-Thondorf, there are two more production plants: one in Rudersdorf in the province of Burgenland, Austria, and another plant in Greven in the province of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany.
More than 20 million m² of fabric are produced for the global market per year. With our state-of-the-art machinery we produce, among others, shading fabrics protecting against UV-rays, and sunscreen fabrics for residential buildings and commercial constructions according to EU standards for Screen Equipment Regulations. Research and development in every respect contribute to our world wide success.
Today, technical textiles are used for numerous applications - SATTLER´s palette ranges from tarpaulins for trucks and tents to digitally printable textiles for indoor and outdoor use in advertising and booth construction.
SATTLER´s potential for innovation was particularly implemented in the fields of environmental and industrial technology: in storage systems, in textile architecture, and in individual solutions for particular industrial applications.
The area of textile architecture with its high qualitative demands was early recognised as a separate business branch. The German subsidiary CENO TEC in Greven is specialised in textile architecture and offers, among others, solutions for roofing of stadiums, booth constructions, and other textile constructions for environmental and technical projects
| Double membrane-gas storage on tanks Tank covering with integrated gas storage for high pressures and large volumes Outer shell protecting against climatic conditions – spherical or cylindrical is external loads such as wind, snow and climatic conditions. With the help of clamping rails the outer and inner membranes are clamped to the tank in such a way that they are leak-proof and will never tear out. The actual gas storage is located inside and thus protected against atmospheric conditions. The SATTLER DMGS TM in spherical shape enables high pressures and large volumes. The CENO DMGS TM in cylindrical shape (23° and 32°) enables a working pressure of up to 5 mbar and mean storage volumes. Inner shell for gas storage The inner membrane represents the gas-proof covering of the fermenter. The gas chamber is located between the inner membrane and the soil. The pressure within the support air space spreads to the biogas via the inner membrane. The inner membrane floats between the outer membrane and the brace system in different heights depending on the filling level. The pressure in the gas chamber is limited by the overpressure valve. |
| Gas bags The pressureless external gas storage for installation in existing buildings Gas bags are the earliest gas storage systems. In most cases gas bags are realised as cylinders or angular cushions. The shape is often determined by the space available. They are mounted in a hanging or horizontal position in existing buildings, rooms or in specially made containers which are for the most part made of steel. In order to measure the filling level, various systems may be used. Normally, gas bags are operated without pressure. Membranes are made of polyester fabrics which are PVC-coated on both sides. Different membrane types are used depending on static requirements, statutory provisions and customer requirements. |
| SATTLER Double membrane-gas storage - external The traditional external gas storage for high gas pressures Outer shell providing protection against climatic conditions As in the case of an air hall, air is blown under the outer membrane of the gas storage by a support air blower. Thus, an overpressure is created within the support air space, keeping the form of the outer membrane stable. The ¾ spherical shape allows for high pressures and large volumes on restricted areas. The outer membrane represents the building. It absorbs all external loads such as wind, snow and climatic conditions. The actual gas storage is located inside and is thus protected against atmospheric conditions. Inner shell for the storage of gas Together with the floor membrane, the inner membrane forms the actual gas storage. They encase the gas chamber. The pressure in the support air space spreads to the biogas via the inner membrane. The inner membrane floats between the floor and the external membrane in different heights depending on the filling level. The pressure inside the gas chamber is limited by the overpressure valve. Measuring the filling level The position of the inner membrane is measured by ultrasonic sensors or rope length measuring systems. These measured values can be transformed into filling level values and serve for the plant control. Storage volume The Sattler double membrane gas storage tank (DMGS) is currently available in standard sizes of 50m³ up to 5.360m³ but dimensions are not limited to that range. Storage concepts for substantially larger storage volumes work according to the same principles, but use different geometries. Working pressure The spherical diameter has the greatest influence on the maximum working pressure of the storage. The smaller the diameter, the higher the max. permissible working pressure may be. A common value of the working pressure is approx. 20 mbar. Membrane material Membranes are made of polyester fabrics which are PVC-coated on both sides. Different membrane types are used depending on static requirements, statutory provisions and customer requirements. |
| The SATTLER Sun-Protection Universe In this section, Sattler deals with the manufacture and dressing of outdoor fabrics for various applications... Whether manufacturing awning materials, balcony screens, folding boat covers or umbrella materials, protection is always uppermost in our minds. SATTLER textiles protect people and objects equally against sunlight and adverse weather conditions. | |
