Fluid Components International solves flow and level measurement applications for industrial process and plant applications using both patented thermal dispersion and Coriolis flow measurement technologies. With more than 40 years experience and the world's largest installed base of thermal dispersion instruments, you can count on FCI to know your application and have proven solutions that will save you time and expense.
FCI was founded in 1964 in Canoga Park, California area. In 1980, we relocated our corporate and manufacturing facility to San Marcos, California (near San Diego). In order to support our increasing international customer base, we opened our European Sales and Service Center in the Netherlands in 1993.
In January 2003, FCI added the coveted AS9000 certificate to our certifications portfolio . Our design, manufacturing and calibration systems, processes and facilities are continuously reviewed, audited and accepted by the major industry leaders.
Our Industrial Division provides flow, liquid level, interface and temperature sensors utilizing thermal and Coriolis technologies to throughout the world.
Our world-class Flow and Level Calibration Facility is continually being improved, expanded and upgraded to meet our customer's increasing requirements.
FCI products deliver accuracy and reliability to the world's most demanding processes and industries including chemical, oil and gas, power and energy, water and wastewater, pharmaceutical, pulp and paper, nuclear power, aerospace, and many more. Where product pedigree and instrument reliability cannot be left to chance, FCI offers the most reliable selection of non-moving part sensing solutions from off-the-shelf devices to custom engineered systems.
| Flow switches Liquid Flow Switches and Air/Gas Flow Switches for Industrial Process Measurement and Automation FCI flow switches feature thermal dispersion technology in which the temperature difference is greatest in a no-flow condition and decreases as flow increases, cooling the heated RTD. Changes in flow velocity directly affect the extent to which heat dissipates and, in turn, the magnitude of the temperature difference between the RTDs. An electronic control circuit converts the RTD temperature difference into a DC voltage signal. Both of these signals are provided at output terminals and are used to drive two adjustable-setpoint alarm circuits. Both alarms are independently field configurable for flow, liquid level/interface or temperature operation. FCI has designed and developed four standard thermal flow switch product series to meet a broad range of performance and environmental application requirements. Each FCI flow switch group can be distinctly identified by the following listed general instrument characteristics: |
| Gas Flow Meters and Coriolis Mass Flow Meters FCI designs, manufactures and sells a broad line of air, gas and liquid mass flow meters utilizing both thermal dispersion and Coriolis flow measurement technologies. Thermal dispersion technology utilizes the relationship between flow rate and cooling effect for direct measurement of mass flow. With no moving parts and minimal invasiveness, thermal dispersion is ideal and widely applied in air and gas applications, and provides a highly repeatable and accurate measurement. For use in both liquids and gases and in application in the CM Series. FCI transmitters and electronics feature advanced microprocessor-based circuitry and rugged construction. These include features such as simple configuration of the signal outputs, display or alarm setting in the field, or analog and digital outputs, easy servicing and maintenance, and long-life in even the harshest of plant installations. FCI has designed and developed four standard mass flow meter product families to meet a broad range of performance and environmental application requirements. Each FCI flow meter group can be distinctly identified by the following listed general instrument characteristics: |
| Level Switches Level Switches and Fluid Level Switches for Industrial Process Measurement and Automation FCI liquid level/interface switches feature thermal dispersion technology in which the temperature difference between the two RTDs is greatest in the absence of liquid and decreases when the level element is submerged, cooling the heated RTD. An electronic control circuit converts the RTD temperature difference into a DC voltage signal. Both signals are provided at output terminals to drive two adjustable-setpoint alarm circuits. Both alarms are independently field configurable for liquid level, interface or temperature operation. Since all process media exhibit different heat transfer capabilities, highly sensitive FCI liquid level/interface controllers may be specifically calibrated to detect difficult interfaces between fluids -- including liquids, gases, slurries and foam regardless of their physical properties. FCI has designed and developed three standard thermal level switch product series to meet a broad range of performance and environmental application requirements. Each FCI level switch group can be distinctly identified by the following listed general instrument characteristics: An electronic control circuit converts the RTD temperature difference into a DC voltage signal. | OEM Custom Flow Sensors, Flow Meters, Flow Switches, Level Switches for OEM Applications We realize manufacturers of industrial/commercial equipment and machinery, and control system designers have diverse and technical requirements for flow and level sensing products. Fluid Components International (FCI) is a world leading manufacturer of built-to-specification and semi-custom flow and level sensors with designs that meet specifications and exceed quality expectations. |
| VORTAB® Flow Conditioners FCI ensures the field performance of its highly accurate mass flow meter product line by offering VORTAB Flow Conditioners. Where process conditions make flow measurement difficult, VORTAB Flow Conditioners eliminate flow distortions that degrade instrument performance. The result is accurate, repeatable measurement with minimal pressure loss. | |
