	Conical Tubes Exel manufactures conical tubes with co-winding and pre-preg technologies. Co-winding is viable technology for big production series, where pre-preg moulding is suitable for smaller production quantities. Pre-Preg Molding This particular form of composite fabrication begins with the pre-impregnation (pre-preg) of reinforce4ment materials with a resin or binder. The combining of these two materials occurs prior to the moulding process and therefore enables a very accurate reinforcement to resin ration to be achieved. Pre-preg materials are used extensively in the aerospace industry due to their ability to maximise strength-to-weight ratios. Pre-pregs are pliable and therefore able to be cut into various shapes or patterns prior to processing into the moulded products.
	Round Tubes The Exel pullwinding technology enables the manufacture of high-performance composite tubes while optimizing the structure by orientation of the fibres and and minimizing the use of raw materials. The choice of reinforcing materials is determined by the technical demands for the tube, such as weight, stiffness and strength, and its ability to insulate heat and electricity. Glass fibre is widely used reinforcing the material that gives the product the properties like light weight, durability, stiffness and wide range of colours. Carbon fibre enables the manufacture of even lighter and stiffer tubes. It should be noted that carbon fibre conducts electricity. Carbon fibre products are always black. 	Standard profiles Flexibility in design and various material combinations are the main advantages of composites over any conventional material. The structural possibilties are almost unlimited. Orientation of th efibres and fibre contents can be adjusted according to application. Special properties such as resistant to heat, fire, chemicals and weathering can be achieved by choosing the appropriate resin system, fibre type and surface treatment.
