The BROCK road sweeper concept was developed specifically to provide a modular design. Depending on the particular chassis type, hopper sizes from 4 to 14 cbm are available with the sweeping/suction unit arranged either on the right or left-hand side or on both sides, to cover virtually all cleaning tasks. We can also provide solutions to meet specific requirements.

The machine
The BROCK SL features a wealth of new ideas:
The sweeping unit with rotary brushes on the right and left of the suction unit is able to "sweep around" obstac- les, i.e. it maintains the direction of travel and only the sweeping/suction unit is pneumatically retracted into the vehicle profile whilst sweeping and is subsequently returned to the optimal sweeping position; all this takes place with a generous reach of 1100 mm from the outer edge of the rear wheel, facilitating the cleaning of parking bays and inner curves.
The sweeping width of 1600 mm without roller brush is normally adequate for most cleaning tasks. For large areas, the sweeping width can be extended to 2740 mm with the towed pendulous roller brush. Additional options such as the two front rotary brushes give the BROCK SL a generous sweeping width of 3600 mm. When sweeping with both sides simultaneously, the sweeping width is extended to 4100 mm and, in conjunction with the telescopic front brush, to an impressive 4700 mm.

     
The telescopic front brush with weed bristles has a side reach of 1600 mm and, owing to its low overall height of only 400 mm, is able to clean barriers as well as directly in front of the front wheel and on curbs up to 220 mm high when raised. The contact pressure of all brushes is infinitely variable and the sweeping units are automatically raised when reversing.

The wear-resistant suction unit is provided with a flap for coarse debris and is tiltable. Suction aperture size: 140 mm. Dust is bound by water jets on the front bumper, on all brushes and in the suction unit (behind which an additional water jet can be installed for intensive cleaning).

Ergonomics
All functions can be controlled from the central control console in the driver's cab. A very handy feature is the miniature control console mounted on the driver's door for the main functions:
Coarse debris pick-up, water feed, sweeping unit retraction and extension, as well as raising and control of the optional front brush as required.

The rear suction hose assembly is provided with a manual shut-off valve at the hopper flap, to ensure the hose is always empty in the transport position.
Provided on the suction hose are control switches for pneumatically raising and lowering the brushes and increasing their rotational speed.

Universal, powerful and silent
All these functions and sweeping width variations from 650 to 4700 mm make BROCK road sweepers universal: Gutters, residential roads, dual carriageways, motorways, car parks, large areas and building site cleaning with grit pick-up.

SL 280 stands for Saug-Leistung (high suction power): 280 m3/min.
The high fan output of 1000-1250 mm water column, is achieved by the newly developed, low-wear, high-performance fan running at n=2500-3000 rpm and efficient air ducting extending from the suction funnel via the hopper, centrally arranged fan and smooth, streamlined exhaust air duct designed for easy flow. The engine compartment and side panels are lined with sound insulating material.

The hopper with its raised stainless steel bottom provided as standard, smooth walls and optimally arranged baffle plate with high wear-resistant coating, ensures even loading. The tilt angle of 60° facilitates emptying. The large, torsionally rigid hopper flap is closed with adjustable twin bolts. The drainage system with strainer serves for liquid discharge.

Service-friendly
For general daily cleaning, a high-pressure washing unit (150 bar, 15 l/min) and spray gun are available. The engine fan unit is easy to access with the hopper tilted and secured.
Further service details: Cleaning unit integrated in fan, large leaf sieve in hopper can be externally lowered for cleaning, easy to clean, smooth exhaust air duct, easy access to covered pneumatic unit and engine oil drain hose. Complete daily maintenance can be carried out without the use of a ladder.
