Absorber We supply special washers for the absorptive separation of acids, bases and other pollutants. These washers have been in use successfully for years in many industrial branches. The washers, including exhaust air infeed, dosing of neutralization medium and blow-down cycles, are operated fully automated. The range of pollutants which are separated by the use of our absorbers with effectiveness levels of > 95% include HCl, HF, HNO3, NOx, Cl2, NH3, SO2 and others. Further inorganic and organic pollutants, such as formaldehyde, methanol, ethanol and ketone can also be separated by wet absorption. Our washers offer the following important advantages: Proven technology with an extremely high degree of efficiency to guarantee compliance with TA-Luft values Low operating costs (among other factors, due to low pressure loss)) High level of operational reliability and system availability due to continual monitoring of system parameters) Compact, space saving modular design Can be retrofitted in any existing exhaust air purification system to increase performance We supply the following types of absorbers: DCS-(Direct-Chemical-Sorption) washers DS- (Direct-Sorption) washers
Adsorber Adsorbers are characterized by a wide range of process technology possibilities for the separation of various different pollutant components. The adsorbents we use have a large inner surface area, offering a lot of room for undesirable air components. We preferably use adsorbers in case of a discontinual mode of operation of systems emitting harmful substances. Beyond the sole use of adsorbers, we have developed system concepts in which, for example, our high performance biofilters are combined intelligently with adsorbers, in order to be able to buffer peak loads of pollutants (solvents) when they occur. In times with lower emissions the adsorber is regenerated by cleaning the exhaust air by means of the high performance biofilter. Thus, regeneration of the adsorber by other means is not necessary
Biofilter Our BIOKAT filter represents proven biofilter technology with very high levels of efficiency. Adapted micro organisms and biocatalyzers are used for the reduction of odour causing substances as well as the separation of harmful substances. The BIOKAT filter is designed as a closed system (container or hall). Exhaust air with intensive odours or burdened with pollutants enters the BIOKAT filter from above. The biofilter material is applied on a shelf, through which the exhaust air flows downward, in the so-called DOWN-FLOW principle. In long dwell times, harmful substance and intensive odour causing components are separated from the exhaust air and converted to CO2 an H2O by adapted micro organisms. Container design version: The modular design requires only a small amount floor space. The system can be adapted step-by-step to changing input parameters. Hall design version: BIOKAT filter halls are used in case of volume flows from approx. 60,000 m3/h. Filter halls are visually integrated in the overall complex.
Biowashers Our biowasher systems CSC (Closed System Column) and BTC (Biological Thermophile Column) combine two proven processes for exhaust gas and exhaust air purification. On the one hand, the absorption of harmful and odour causing substances takes place in the substance exchange zone of the washer column and, on the other hand, the biological degradation with micro-organisms specially adapted to the respective application case. An effective biofilm with excellent absorption properties and degradation capabilities forms on the Wessel biosorb packing material, which is characterized by a large specific surface area at low pressure losses. The absorbed harmful and odour causing substances, through their natural metabolism, are completely converted to CO2 and H2O in the biofilm on the packings as well as by suspended micro organisms contained in the washing fluid of the integrated reaction basin. In case of very high concentrations of pollutants, a biological water treatment module can be sued to support the decomposition processes. Our biowashers are characterized by their particular environmental friendliness.
Dry dedusting systems We offer a wide range of fabric filters for the separation of dust in application in various branches. The selection of the cleaning technology to be used is done under consideration of requirements on the respective processes and methods. Our fabric filters are designed for rough and changing operating conditions and are available from smallest volume flows to approx. 250,000 m³/h. Systems are controlled by modern electronic control units. We pay particular attention to explosion protection. The requirements of the ATEX Guidelines are consequently implemented in our dedusting systems. Dedusting methods Dedusting by compressed air Dedusting by beating and scavenging air Designs Tube and pocket filters Round filters Cartridge and cassette filters Special materials (e.g. 1.4301, 1.4541, etc.) other special designs depending on application case Filter media Fabrics, fleeces and felts made from various fibre materials such as polyester, polypropylene, PTFE, cotton, etc. The fibre materials are pre-treated depending on the application (antistatic, oleophobic, hydrophobic, etc.). Explosion protection Certified rupture disks Design of the filter to withstand reduced explosion pressure Systems for decoupling, certified flap valves, deflection chutes Monitoring of the pure gas side with measuring equipment
RTO Regenerative Thermal Oxidation systems, by Wessel, have established themselves successfully for providing solutions to various problems in the industrial and municipal field. These include the following applications: Separation of solvents in the area of medium to high concentrations for industrial application cases, and Overall carbon separation, in particular methane separation, for the waste management field. The process is based on the fact that even comparatively small amounts of volatile pollutants can be incinerated residue-free under suitable conditions. The technology is characterized by high preheating of the exhaust gas within the reciprocal flow beds, as a rule, ceramic honeycomb elements, of the regenerative heat exchanger. Due to the high efficiency of the heat exchanger of > 95%, as well as the relatively high oxidation temperature of > 800°C, comparatively low emissions of NOx and CO are released. Process related details, such as the design of flap systems, special air distribution systems and selected honeycomb elements assure the secure compliance with legal limiting value.
Water treatment The closed production water circuit with integrated process water generation represents the latest ecological technology for industrial facilities. By combining innovative biological water treatment processes with modern membrane technology we have succeeded in utilizing achievable economical and ecological advantages to the highest possible level. Contaminated surface water or rain water can also be treated and recycled in the same way as other waste water. The fresh water requirement of our systems is reduced to a fraction of the otherwise usual consumption. The processing techniques for the purification of water and exhaust gases are coordinated to each other. Due to the exploitation of existing synergy potentials, there are no critical interfaces. Investment and operating costs are minimized
