Ohmex Ltd , located in the UK within the beautiful New Forest area, near to Southampton one of the largest commercial shipping ports in the world. Established in April 2000 Ohmex is primarily a manufacturer of equipment involved in Environmental Science applications such as Environmental Data collection, Land and Hydrographic surveying systems . Product names manufactured and distributed under license from LMTS(L.M.Technical Services Ltd) include EDAS, HydroLite, SonarLite, TidaLite and SonarMite
| Radio Telemetry Modems The 'LR' and 'SR' modems are new range of digital radio telemetry systems to complement the Ohmex Tide Gauge and Weather station products, housed in a robust IP67 aluminium cases the modems are suitable for use in licence free Marine applications worldwide. The LR radios use a spread spectrum technology to avoid interference and provide clear data communications between modems at baud rates up to 115.2 Kbps. The SR radio system use 20 channels within the open license free EU radio frequencies The radios can be set up in secure Master, Slave or Repeater modes providing 'Point to Point' and 'Point to Multipoint' network combinations. |
| SonarMite Echo Sounder The SonarMite Echo Sounder is the result of nearly two years research and development to further extend the boundaries of shallow water hydrographic surveying equipment. The introduction by Ohmex in 1997 of the SonarLite, the worlds first truly portable echo sounder system, has been a hard act to follow and it remains the portable instrument of choice in many survey companies around the world. The release of the SonarMite instrument marks the next stage introducing a series of equipment designed around the WinSTRUMENT concept using the latest portable computers integrated with new measurement technologies. |
| SonarMite Software - Trimble Versions The SonarMite software provides a complete hydrographic package for datalogging and display facilities for the SonarMite echo sounder used with a wide range of positioning devices. Versions of the software have been ported to various Trimble devices, special software features included in this version of the SonarMite software include a parser to work with positions generated by the ATS range of robotic total stations used in machine control and automated construction applications.
Trimble ACU WinCE.net Port
Ohmex have ported the SonarMite echo sounder software to the Trimble ACU controller and data collector used on a wide range of Robotic Total Stations, RTK GPS systems and rover detail poles.
The ACU incorporates the WindowsÂŽ CE.NET operating system, a graphical touch screen display and Bluetooth communications technology. The resulting unit provides a compact cable-free or on-board instrument controller and data collection solution. The ACU is specifically designed to attach to Trimble field sensors, it clips directly on to Trimble 5600/3600 Total Stations, 5600/5800 RTK GPS systems and robotic/RTK rover poles. The ACU is powered by the instrument or the robotic/RTK rod holder. The internal battery provides up to three hours of stand-by operation. Environmentally rated to IP54 and temperature ranges from â20°C to +55°C the ACU is able to withstand a drop of 0.90 m making it rugged enough for most field applications.

| TideM8 - Modular Bluetooth Tide Gauge System TideM8 is the current replacement for the popular TidaLite portable tide gauge. Using the latest low power processor and flash memory technology, the new design offers precise calendar and time keeping functions together with solid state data retention. The TideM8 is designed to interface directly to external displays or computers using serial communications with Bluetooth, the Ohmex Short and Long range radio telemetry modems and a range of dedicated LCDs for simple remote display of numeric data. |
| Trimble SCS900 Hydrographic extensions The concept of the Sonar extension to SCS900 is to enable the construction user to execute simple Hydrographic surveys using their SCS900 software together with existing positioning equipment, no need to learn another package or convert to new reporting facilities, the sonar effectively behaves as an extension to the existing survey detail pole for measuring water depth | |
