H2NS Environmental Inc was formed in 1994. The founders of H2NS are the previous founders of Odessa Engineering.
Early on, H2NS Inc. was contacted by many Odessa Engineering clients in order to obtain support for their Odessa Hardware and software. Through word of mouth we built a reputation of rapid response with reasonable rates and soon had a respectable customer base. We performed system expansion and upgrades on existing Odessa systems. The original designers of the Odessa data logger, the DSM series, set out on a quest to design and produce a data acquisition unit capable to meet today’s challenges and flexible enough to meet the unknown after Y2K.
The environmental instrumentation manufacturers of today have harnessed the power of a central processing unit (CPU) and imbedded it into their instrumentation. This modernization produced features previously unavailable to an operator. Now diagnostics could be run over a serial port, set-up or set-up changes made with a keystroke, digitized data was available for direct download into a database. However, there was one drawback. All manufacturers had different protocols, hence the digital data download could not be automated.
H2NS Inc. recognized this sign of the future and began designing a data acquisition device with the capability of communicating with an array of manufacturers instrumentation and combining that data into a common database. This concept also allowed operators, at a remote location, to communicate with an individual instrument to perform diagnostics and routine “state-of-health checks. The capability to perform this type of testing led to “Predictive Maintenance”, where an operator could envision a failing instrument component, perform maintenance and restore the instrument before it failed completely. While connected the CPP-4794, data collection continues uninterrupted while an operator is exercising inherent features of an instrument. As not all users had 100% new-smart instrumentation but rather a mixture of old and new so we implemented an analog front end for the CPP-4794 in order to maintain backward compatibility.
Our software package, DataLink/AQM is intended for the ambient market. It can be used to monitor a process, where rapid data sampling and graphical presentation is required. The plus feature of DataLink is that it will communicate with Odessa data loggers. this provides a cost savings to clients because the data acquisition units do not need to be replaced. The DSM is not leap year compliant (2004). Another plus benefit of DataLink is that when and if the DSM becomes insupportable, it can be replaced by the CPP-4794. This replacement is transparent to DataLink
| DataLink-CEM Environmental Data Acquisition Software - Continuous Emissions Monitoring / Process Monitoring FEATURES: Windows 98/NT™ Operating System Easy To Use Open Data Structure Real Time Data Reduction, Validation and Presentation Flexible Reporting and Data Analysis Tools CEMS, 40CFR 60, 64, 503 PEMS and Parameter Monitoring Graphical Data Presentations Interfaces to, H2NS-CPP-3794, Odessa DSM Series Remote Modem Access Realizing today's ever evolving environmental regulations have placed increasingly more complex data acquisition and reporting requirements on the non-scientific user, H2NS is pleased to present DataLink. This software program is flexible and extremely easy to use. The Windows NT™ operating system is the system of choice for mission critical applications in industry. Realizing that not all applications require all the bells and whistles our software is capable of, we have modularized the package so the user can select the module best fitting his application and budget. DataLink contains four separate modules. They are: Configuration Explorer which is essentially the system configuration such as channel assignments, alarms, etc., Scheduler, which is the summary report setup for manual or automatic generation of reports, Data Monitor, which is the display of real time data and alarms with the capability to print summary reports. Data Explorer, coupled with Data Monitor, provides a complete data acquisition, alarming and reporting package. Data Explorer can export data or save reports to file. For CEM applications, DataLink is designed to give operators a real time picture of their process. The data acquisition device is polled and the displays are updated as fast as each 5 seconds. This real time compensation, averaging, calibration results and data validity determination informs the operator of an impending problem so that corrective action can be taken before they develop. The alarming and real time tracking allows for archiving and entry of reasons and actions codes. Data is displayed in either trend or tabular format. The Windows NT™ operating system ensures true pre-emptive multi-tasking, Data are collected at all times regardless of data analysis or report generation activity. All data collected by DataLink is stored in an open database structure. this typically consists of quarterly Microsoft Foxpro 3.0 Database files. DataLink can also be interfaced with corporate database systems such as Oracle™ and Microsoft SQL-Server™. Data may also be exported to Microsoft Excel or Microsoft Access. DataLink incorporates a variety of reports including: excess emissions, analyzer downtime or out of control periods. Required regulatory, pre-formatted reports, are only a mouse click away. The "ad-hoc" query tool allows for complex queries of the database. This tool allows the user to select the criteria for any type of report, generate it, and output it to an external data base( Excel, Access, etc). Reports also may be output to a printer, Lotus spreadsheets, the resident database or simply as text files. DataLink allows for the full range of data retrieval, data archiving, data editing, calibration reports, alarming, and real time data display. Pre-formatted regulatory reports are standard. The "ad-hoc" report feature is standard. The New Jersey state regulatory reports are automatically produced. Other state reports are in process of development. Also coming soon is the automatic preparation of the new reports required under the "NOX Budget Program". These reports will be transferred to the applicable regulatory agency be electronic means. |
| Environmental Monitoring and Meteorological Studies H2NS Environmental Inc. is pleased to present DataLink/AQM,-RT a truly new concept for environmental monitoring and meteorological studies. DataLink/AQM-RT incorporates the latest technologies while maintaining tradition for the tenured environmental professional. H2NS has added an exciting, new capability, to this proven package of Data Acquisition Software. This package allows for automated and manual polling of an H2NS CPP-3794, plus a variety of other manufacturers data loggers, either by direct connect or telephone modem. In the Real Time mode, operators can view data in a variety of formats with updates as frequent as 10 seconds. Retrieved data is stored in a data base that can be edited and exported to popular spread sheets such as Access? or Excel?. Data analysis includes tabular summary reports with a max-min, interval average and total summary. Presentations include trend charts, bar graphs tabular and graphical reports. Graphical reports include wind rose, pollution rose and 3D graphs. DataLink/AQM-RT takes all the hassle out of configuring the software to match the specific data logger configuration. Using DataLink/AQM-RT you simply connect to a data logger and DataLink-RT commands the logger to download it’s configuration. The configuration is saved as unique to that location. DataLink also allows reset of the logger time to match the computer time or allows the logger to reset the computer time. |
| H2NS Environmental Presents the CPP-4794 - The Next Generation Serial Data Collection The CPP-4794 represents the next generation of data logging and offers serial interfacing to instruments as well as supporting the traditional analog approach using an analog to digital converter. Over a single RS-232 cable, the CPP can collect data, status and control the calibrations of connected instrumentation. This approach simplifies wiring, documentation and increases system reliability. In those instruments that support a time/date download, the CPP keeps the entire system time synchronized. Pass Through to Instruments The CPP-4794 also offers an unabated pass through mode that allows a user to make a direct connection with an instrument that is connected to the CPP, passing signals through the CPP, unabated. This allows manufacturer supplied diagnostic routines to be conducted on instruments from a remote location, e.g., your facility or even the instrument manufacturer’s facility. The CPP continues to collect data from all other connected instrumentation. 12 Independent Serial Ports Up to 12 independent serial ports can be installed in the CPP. One serial port is used for an on site operator, another is used to communicate and transfer data to a central polling facility. The remainder of the serial ports can be used to interface to instrumentation. One of the ports can be used to provide a Modbus output from the CPP, or other special protocols, as needed. Data Storage/Security The battery backed, internal memory in the CPP can store over 3,000 data values for ten channels. For hourly averages, this translates into 3,000 hours of data for ten channels. However, given all that can happen at a remote location such as power surges, brownouts, lightning, and operator mishaps, the CPP also offers data storage on a 64meg, industrial grade, Compact Flash Memory Card. This provides an additional degree of buffering from circumstances that can affect data collected and stored on site. Years of hourly data can be stored on the Compact Flash Memory Card. | |
