NIVUS – Pointing the Way Our contributions to improve and to protect our environments and our resources NIVUS - Today The NIVUS group is one of the foremost developers, producers and suppliers of measurement equipment for water economy worldwide. In the past we made every effort to acquire experience in the field of ultrasonic measurement technology. NIVUS have rendered real pioneering work in this area. In cooperation with partners NIVUS introduced the first ultrasonic level measurement units for industrial use in the seventies on a wide base in central Europe. Many new products were rapidly developed on that basis. Today NIVUS are capable of acting as a full-range supplier for measurement technology in the water economy. These units are used successfully in respective applications in the entire industry of course. Product range The product range contains units for measuring flow, level, pressure, water quality, density and turbidity as well as units required for data acquisition, data transfer, data logging and data evaluation. A comprehensive process control system with many special functions for water economy completes the product range. Service In the service sector NIVUS offer measurement campaigns to record flow and water quality/load in sewer channel systems as well as processing and evaluation of data. It needs sound knowledge about hydraulics and experience with measurement technology to achieve useful results in various municipal channel systems. We have both of them. Our engineers meet these requirements and have years of experience in this field. Another great advantage that speaks well for the NIVUS service department is that our specialists know best the own units and have a large pool of devices available. This enables us to carry out comprehensive measurement campaigns on short call. That is why we are able to interact with our development division in terms of quality or improvement requests if necessary. This results in constant product enhancements which of course benefits customers. Know-how We consider the transfer of service and know-how to have major importance. Further, we endeavour to impart as soon as possible any required knowledge about our units, their correct installation and initial start-up to each customer on short call. This is why we constantly organize trainings at our premises, our distributors and our customers. Our hotline is available if any problems should occur. Here, we can help you quickly and with professional competence. Apart from that we are able to fully access our new generation of units via Internet if the required prerequisites are available on-site. This is feasible from any PC in the world without installing additional software. Aims Our aim is to provide high-quality and economic products and solutions to meet the permanently increasing requirements on measurement technology. This is why we constantly invest in technology and the know-how of our staff. Currently the NIVUS group consists of approx. 100 persons. Ten percent of them are employed in the development department, another 20 specialists work as advisors for you all over Germany and worldwide.

	DataCont FWU The DataCont FWU is preferably used as a data logger to log mechanical, metrological and electro technical equipment in rain basins, pump stations or other technical facilities. Among others water levels, flows, pulse times and error messages can be logged and recorded. The analog inputsâ storage behavior as well as the internal digital outputsâ switching behavior can be controlled by limit value modules/timer modules. The data report can be carried out on-site with a laptop via an RS 232 interface. By using the corresponding NIVUS software the data (protocols and progress lines) can be edited, archived, displayed graphically and printed with a PC. When coordinating several decentralized measurement points by a main station the data are transmitted via the telephone network. Error messages as well as data thus can be transmitted automatically.Using a rechargeable battery buffer (optional) with the modem, an error message will be transmitted safely even in case of a mains failure. This is carried out either via the fixed phone network (analog modem â optional) or via radio transmission (GSM modem â optional). Upcoming error messages can be divided to up to eight phone numbers. Transmission by City-Call and/or SMS (D1 or D2) is possible too. In the main station error messages can be printed. The NIVUS software NivuDat or the NIVUS process conducting system NICOS make the DataCont FWU remote controllable. Optional basin purification facilities can be driven by using a software module.

In opposite to electromechanical / optical measurement devices the NivuScope captures interfaces or density alternations independent of the absolute density. Hence, it is possible to safely determine the topmost interface e.g. in secondaries and to prevent the sludge from âoverflowingâ. This protects our waters and ensures operators to safely operate their facilities according to the high environmental requirements. Something similar applies to the sludge stock in the secondary. Here, it must be made sure that the sludge level does not fall below its minimum.
