SPECTRO ANALYTICAL INSTRUMENTS is a worldwide leading producer of instrumentation for elemental analysis. Offering a wide range of technologies, from XRF and ICP through Arc/Spark Optical Emission, SPECTRO has a solution to solve most every elemental analysis requirement.
Whether metal, plastic or organic material, a solid, powder or solution, with its unique product range of mobile and stationary metal analyzers, ICP spectrometers and X-ray fluorescence spectrometers, SPECTRO offers the optimum solution for any application. The smallest system barely weighs one kilogram while the largest fills a whole laboratory. All systems, however, are based on the most innovative technology, strictly geared towards specific user requirements, optimum configuration for the respective task and the worldwide recognized reliability that has made SPECTRO the leading supplier in the field of elemental analysis.
Mobile Metal Analyzers Scrap sorting of production materials, identification of semi-finished products during processing and material testing of finished products are just some of the typical applications for SPECTRO portable and mobile metal analyzers. The applications are manifold: Pipes, forged parts, rods, valves, welds, containers and many other sample types can be tested both easily and effectively.
Stationary metal analyzers from SPECTRO are used wherever precision analysis of the chemical composition of metallic materials is required. In all sectors of the metal producing and processing industry these analyzers control the alloying processes, monitor metal quality and rule out the use of incorrect materials and consequently the resulting production downtimes and safety risks.
Increased precision, more complex system requirements as well as constant expansion of spheres of application: Elemental analysis is developing worldwide at a dynamic rate. Unlike any other company, SPECTRO has characterized and influenced the advances made in this sector. Founded in 1979 as a three-man operation, today SPECTRO employs a staff of more than 500 members worldwide and supports more than 19,000 installed systems.

| ICP spectrometers Over the last 25 years, optical emission spectrometers with ICP excitation sources have become an indispensable tool for chemical elemental analysis. Their ease of use, high sensitivity and precision, plus relative freedom from interferences have made ICP-OES systems the analytical method of choice for a wide range of applications.
Since the introduction of its first ICP, SPECTRO has managed to continuously set performance benchmarks. Today, the new SPECTRO ARCOS*, an ICP spectrometer with a unique optical system, is the most powerful, flexible, and fastest ICP, the world has ever seen. The SPECTRO GENESIS is the first and only ICP-OES spectrometer available with a complete set of factory calibrated methods for environmental and industrial applications - truly â plug & analyzeâ without needing to first develop a method.

| Portable and mobile on-site metal analyzers Alloy identification and pass/fail sorting for incoming and outgoing quality control, infrastructure control of petrochemical facilities and PMI for metal recycling are just a few of the typical tasks for the SPECTRO on-site metal analyzers
Tubes, forged parts, bars, valves, welding seams, tanks, billets, castings and most any other form that metal can take on, can be analyzed. Inside the factory or outside, at the scrap yard, down a submarine hatch or up a ladder at a chemical factory, with the SPECTRO on-site metal analyzers you have the portability and mobility to analyze metal even in the most remote location. |
| SPECTRO GENESIS ICP Spectrometer The SPECTRO GENESIS is the first and only ICP-OES spectrometer available with a complete set of factory calibrated methods for environmental and industrial applications - truly â plug & analyzeâ without needing to first develop a method. The methods are delivered ready for use straight out of the box with an application package that includes the sample introduction system, sample preparation instructions and method documentation.
The SPECTRO GENESIS is available with two different plasma interfaces. Depending on the application, the instrument is equipped with either radial (SOP) or axial (EOP) plasma observation. The SPECTRO GENESIS offers a real economic alternative to sequential ICP and Atomic Absorption spectrometers, enabling those who are unfamiliar with ICP to profit from the advantages of leading CCD ICP technology and to use a powerful, low cost and user friendly analytical system. |
| SPECTRO MIDEX SPECTRO MIDEX is a Benchtop XRF system that provides quick, non-destructive determination of the elemental composition for Jewelry and Dental alloys. The analyzer is also well suited for forensic science applications. It uses state-of-the-art XRF technology and proprietary beam collimation techniques to ensure the easiest, most accurate measurement results possible within a typical 2-3-minute response time.
Using a collimated X-ray beam means that the sample itself, or the region analyzed on the sample, can be extremely small. As a result, composition of irregular surfaces, small metal fragments, and even metallic coatings can be measured quickly, accurately, and reliably |
| SPECTRO xSORT The new SPECTRO xSORT is a compact energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence spectrometer for the continuous, fatigue-free handheld analysis and sorting of metals.
It makes use of innovative efficient components for excitation and detection. Together with other top quality modules, they are the basis for the unique precision, speed and safety of this system.
Only with the SPECTRO xSORT is it possible to conduct laboratory-like results for up to 41 elements from Mg to Th in a single measuring cycle that lasts only 2 seconds.
Only 10 seconds are necessary for the sorting of various aluminum and magnesium alloys. During this process even the light elements, such as Al, Mg, Si and P are measured in air â without complicated additional techniques like helium flushing or vacuum, simplifying operation decidedly.
The instrument has a rechargeable battery and a robust housing. When not in use, it can be carried comfortably in the holster supplied with the system.

| SPECTROLAB With the new SPECTROLAB, SPECTRO introduces a new class of metal analyzers distinguished by improved analytical performance, greater investigative flexibility and simpler operation. Depending on the individual requirements, the analytical scope can be custom designed based on the ten standard matrices, Fe, Al, Cu, Ni, Co, Mg, Ti, Sn, Pb and Zn, or, as an alternative, from the five precious metal matrices, Au, Ag, Pt, Pd and Ru.
The unique SPECTROLAB optical system uses the specific advantages of both of the previously alternatively used detector systems: photomultiplier tubes and CCDs. It contains two separate spectral modules in one housing, which signals are simultaneously processed by a completely redesigned high-performance readout system. Equipped with these and other modern and high quality components, the SPECTROLAB is designed for sophisticated analytical requirements in the metal producing, processing and recycling industries. | |
