As the world leader of submersible pumps, mixers and accessories ITT Flygt has been producing products within this field since the 1940's, when Sixten Englesson invented the first submersible drainage pump. The company has since grown to a worldwide corporation, operating in over 130 countries. Throughout the last half century ITT Flygt has continued to lead the submersible industry, with inventions such as the submersible mixer, the submersible sewage pump, and the banana blade mixer. Even today, ITT Flygt continues to be the market innovator, with products such as the N-pump, which promises to revolutionize submersible pumping. Below is a brief overview of a world leading company.
| C3000 For waste water containing large solid particles
The C-pumps are equipped with a shrouded single- or multi-channel impeller running in volute. The shape and the size of the channel minimize clogging, and therefore make the pump ideal for waste water containing large solid particles. |
| Compact mixers The ITT Water & Wastewater 4600 series features eight different sized direct drive, stainless steel Flygt mixers. Motor capacities range from 0.75 to 25 kW for 50Hz and 0.9 to 30 kW for 60Hz (1,5 hp to 40 hp). |
| F3000 Chopper For pumping stations in public and institutional facilities
Every district has at least on - nightmare of a pumping station. A pumping station that is always subject to clogging. A pumping station that requires more time and attention than all the other stations in the district put together. You find them in places like train stations, hospitals, prisons and hotels: places where all kind of things gets flushed down the toilets, both fibrous and solid. Places that demand all too frequent emergency calls.
Getting the chop 140 times per second
But there is a solution: a Flygt chopper pump. Equipped with a special impeller and cutting plate, chopper pumps will cut up a wide variety of long fibrous materials and solid objects into small, harmless pieces, that will neither block up the pump, nor the piping.
The cutting action can be compared to that of a scissors. All stringy materials or solids that enter the inlet are forced by the S-shaped impeller into one of three areas in the high chrome cutting plate. There it is chopped up by the sharp, hardened edge of the rotating impeller. With an operation speed of over 1400 rpm, material passing through the pumps is chopped more than 140 times per second into harmless pieces.
For excess sludge sumps in sewage treatment plants
Every now and then, something can get through the screens. It could be the remains of a plastic bag, rags, or a pair of nylon tights. If you are unlucky, the material will rap itself around the impeller of a centrifugal pump, putting it out of action.
The resulting clogging can occasionally lead to flooding. And a breakdown always requires attention; in some sumps several times a month. It is an expensive and inefficient use of personnel and resources.
Protection against impeller jamming
The motor and shaft are protected from mechanical damage, should hard solid objects become caught in the cutting area.
The largest pump in the range features a unique automatic safety clutch. If a stoppage occurs, the obstructing article is easily removed, either manually, or by running the pump in reverse, and the unit is ready again for action.
For especially thick sludge, the screw-shape design of the impeller works to feed the denser medium through the pump. |
| M3000 Grinder Grinding down the problems
The effective grinder assembly is designed with components of chromium-alloy and stainless steel. All solids are reduced to particles no greater than 5x15 mm, thereby allowing the use of small diameter pipes.
The impeller consists of a rotating cutter device mounted on the shaft and stationary cutting ring with axial teeth. The impeller works not only by picking up and crushing solids and fibrous materials, but also by ejecting large hard particles, Clogging is also prevented by the fact that pipe diameter is never less than the pump throughlet diameter.
Grinder pumps are so efficient that they run a maximum of just half an hour per day. ITT Water & Wastewater's Flygt Pumps are also very robust and so well constructed that they can be started as many as 15-20 timer per hour. |
| N3000 Bringing NEW levels of efficiency to wastewater handling applications
Reduced pumping efficiency, high energy and maintenance costs shouldnât be a fact of life in wastewater handling. The N-Pump series from Flygt features a radical new hydraulic end design which ensures efficient, reliable and trouble-free pumping over long duty periods.
The result: improved operational economy which can dramatically reduce the total life cost of your installation.
The N-Pumps maintain a high level of pumping efficiency, even in fluids with a high solids and fibrous content, thanks to a unique open-type self cleaning impeller. This is complemented by a special relief groove in the volute. This design greatly reduces the risk of clogging by the self cleaning flow path through the pump. The result is lower power consumption, even under the worst conditions.
Extensive field and laboratory tests have proved that the N-Pump is superior to any state-of-the-art wastewater pump design, both in efficiency and clog resistance. | |
