For areas with particularly high hygiene requirementsFor in particular in the dirty water tank the danger exists that – if the inside of the tank is not cleaned 100% after use – over time there will be contamination (germination of spores), which is undesirable and which could potentially pose a risk, particularly in sensitive areas such as clinics.
Antibacterial action confirmed according to ISO 22196 (JIS Z 2801)
With Hako AntiBac, the antibacterial dirty water tank, we are dealing with a tank, which has a reducing effect on the growth of bacteria and mould as a result of mixing in special additives. These antimicrobial additives are silver-based inorganic compounds. These are characterised by good effectiveness, safe processing and simple recycling. The antimicrobial effectiveness of the silver has been known for centuries. A test carried out by the Fresenius Institute in Dortmund in May 2010 confirmed once again clearly the antimicrobial action of the material.
The mode of action
With antibacterial equipped tanks the surface area of the tank interior is protected against the growth of bacteria, mould / fungus and spores, after the dirty water has been drained, which could possibly arise as the result of residual moisture and left over dirt. It also significantly reduces the emergence of unpleasant odours.
The proof of effectiveness
According to JIS Z 2801 (ISO 22196) in the laboratory, for the material composition chosen by Hako there was a reduction of 99.9 % in various bacteria as well as moulds. The growth of bacteria and mould in antibacterial tanks is therefore reduced considerably.
Two prepared tanks (1) without AntiBac (2) with AntiBac were closed and stored at room temperature for 7 days.
After this time there is a significantly reduced growth of bacteria, mould and spores in the Hako AntiBac Tank (2).
The Hako AntiBac Tank also developed significantly less odour.
