The Company BSR Solar Technologies GmbH ("BSRsolar"), a private company located near Basle in the southern part of Germany, develops solar products for global application. The company, formerly part of the Bomin Solar Group, has been in the forefront of innovative solar technology developments over the last 30 years. The creative forces behind the company, Jürgen Kleinwächter, and until 1997 his father, the late Prof. Hans Kleinwächter, are both considered European pioneers in solar technologies. The mission of BSR Solar Technologies is twofold: develop systems powered by renewable energies (in particular by solar radiation) for deployment in sunbelt countries to help meet water and energy needs. Through technology transfer, local partners transform these systems into local products with "German engineering inside" become a leading developer of Stirling-technology-based distributed power generation and energy saving systems for application in developed economies It is the business policy of BSRsolar to conduct the final development phase jointly with industrial partners and to commercialize its products through a global network of local marketing partners. In pursuit of this policy BSR Solar Technologies seeks marketing partners for developed products and development partners for products still under development.
Marketing Partners Sought
It is the business policy of BSR Solar Technologies to market its products in overseas markets through local partners as "local" products with "German engineering inside." The objective is to optimize market acceptance of BSRsolar products: products with high local content and manufactured locally to create jobs and keep manufacturing costs within the local cost structure.
The production, marketing, sales and after-sales service of BSRsolar products are undertaken exclusively in their respective markets by the local partner on a license or joint-venture basis. The local partner is part of the "BSR Global Partnership": all products are marketed under the BSRsolar brandname and must adhere to strict quality control criteria. All product adaptations and improvements created either by BSRsolar or by a local partner are made available to all members of the Partnership.
Currently, BSR Solar Technologies is seeking further local partners for the following products:
| Development Partners Sought BSR Solar Technologies generally undertakes the development of prototypes with proven functionality to marketable products with an industrial partner. BSRsolar brings into this cooperation its product technology, prototypes, the exclusive commercialization rights of the products to be developed and its global network of marketing partners and prospects. The partner is expected to contribute industrial design/engineering expertise and to finance part of the development cost. BSRsolar currently seeks industrial partners for the development of distributed power generation and energy saving systems utilizing BSRsolar's medium-temperature Stirling and heat-storage technologies. BSRsolar has developed a Stirling demonstrator (see photo below) and has proven full functionality of the system. Industrial partners are sought for developing specific applications of BSRsolar's Stirling and solar-thermal heat storage technologies such as: distributed power generation systems for sunbelt countries: solar-powered Stirling engines (5kWel to 20kWel+) equipped with oil-based heat storage system and/or powered by biomass for round the clock operation Stirling systems powered by waste heat from micro-turbines, fuel cells or other industrial waste heat Stirling systems generating cooling energy; to be employed for air-conditioning in households, for cooling agricultural produce and for refrigeration |
| Low-Temperature Stirling Technolog BSRsolar's low-temperature Stirling engine is powered by unconcentrated solar radiation. The first application is the solar-thermal pumping system SUNPULSETM water. The absorber surface of about 3 square meters converts the solar radiation into heat of about 100°C inside the engine at the hot end whereas the temperature at the cold side is kept at about 30°C. Thus, according to the Law of Carnot, the engine can ideally achieve the efficiency of 19% of which it realizes about 70%, thus achieving an efficiency of 13%. |
| Solar Pumping Systems With its 100/300W solar pumping systems BSRsolar targets the global market for agricultural micro-irrigation and for domestic water supply in rural villages.
BSRsolar currently has two specific products in the final development stage: The PV-powered pump, SOLARRAMTM
