Our aim is to present technically advanced and innovative products, which in combination with our well-engineered and practical application provides our customers and partners with solutions that optimise their processes. A high number of experienced application engineers help our customers to solve problems or take part in new projects within our technical competence from the basic principles to installation phase. Our philosophy is to find overall solutions to problems. In most cases machine engineering is a pre-condition for chemotechnical processes which form a unity with peripheral chemical reactions. Therefore it is important for the applicant to get an overall offer and an ideal cost-benefit-calculation. Ongoing servicing of projects has top priority in our efforts to guarantee the maintenance of the technical value of our applications and continous security by the way of consistent optimisation: The journey is the reward.
Within our customers enterprises we invest the most important capital ? innovation, experience, enthusiasm and the eagerness with which our employees work. We could not be such a good partner for our customers and suppliers in the course of challenging projects without them. And without continuity in the field of servicing of ongoing projects security of added value of the applications could hardly be warranted.
History
ACAT Vienna ? the first branch of Applied Chemicals International Ltd ? was founded in December 1994. The successful start is attributed to nine employees with more than ten years of excellent experiences in the fields of applications and products. With the increase in applications and customers further employees have been hired and consequently a new subcompany specialized on the environmental field was founded in Budapest in 1995. After a period of consolidation in 1996 in which a stabilization and diversification in respect to suppliers and customers had taken place, ACAT Basel was founded in 1997. Also in this branch the environmental field was focused in the beginning and strengthened by the field of papertechnology very soon. To improve the services of machine engineering and -logistics a storage was opened in Scheibbs in 2000. Today the enterprises consists of approximately 47 employees working in Vienna, Basel, Budapest and since 2001 in Milan. The small firm has successfully worked its way up to an medium-sized enterprise.

All enterprises of the ACAT group are owned at 100 % by Applied Chemicals International plc Basel/Switzerland one of the few independent and private firms in the field of chemical trade and services in Europe. Apart of the classical administrative structure consisting of an umbrella organization and regional departments, stress is laid on cross national divisionstructures. Therefore customers benefit of wide-scale know-how and experience.
