newtec was founded in Berlin in 1997 as the specialist for all needs in water disinfection, and has since succesfully established itself on the market.
| disinfection of biologically treated wastewater and effluent Since 1995 the e-disinfector has entered more and more water disinfection applications. Continuous research made the adaption to various applications possible. Nowadays water disinfection units of the type e-disinfector are in operation in the most different fields worldwide: drinking water, treated wastewater, process water in the chemical and food industry, swimming pools and many others.
The e-disinfector works without addition of any chemicals similar to UV radiation
Only electric energy is consumed for the supply of the electrodes. In comparison to UV the disinfection is independent from the turbity of the water.
The energy consumption is rather low. To disinfect 1000 Liters of wastewater the energy consumption amounts to only 15Wh.
The patented process of electrolytic disinfection favores the formation of active oxygen compounds. These oygen compounds help to reduce the formation of unwanted disinfection byproducts such as THM as they are formed during the disinfection with conventional chlorine dosing. Unlike other physical processes such as UV the e-dis sewage is capable of producing the biggest advantage of chemicals - sustainable disinfection by residual activity.
Through continuous optimization the price of our product for wastewater disinfection,the e-dis sewage, has become more favourable and the reuse of treated wastewater has become more economically attractive. Compared to UV and other treatment methods the specific costs for disinfection can be minimized. The customer can especially saves money on the operational costs which allows widespread use.

| Disinfection of cooling and process water The problems associated with the use of chlorine in pool water. Especially the industrial usage of water in circulation systems is prone to increased bacteria growth due to raised temperatures and high nutrient load. The results are deteriorated product quality, expensive cleaning of the water system and endangering of the workers`health due to exposure to airborne toxic substances. The employment of disinfection is the only alternative to substitution by expensive fresh water.
The production integrated application of electrolytic disinfection by e-dis industry sytems allows in most cases a substantial reduction of the fresh water demand. In addition to the ecological benefits there are also economical advantages for the operator of such water systems. The disinfection treatment helps also to cut the costs of waste water disposal.

Due to the synergistic effect of the disinfectant based on chlorine and oxygen the oxidation properties are much higher compared to conventional disinfection by chlorine or hydrogen peroxide. As an additional benefit extraordinary oxidation and deodorizing properties can be reached.
The build-up of an effective disinfection potential from the regular water ingredients prevents a recontamination in the piping and within other equipment in contact with the water.

Through the electrolysis of a brine solution, newtecâs CLOE-System makes a chlorine gas mixture out of conventional salt, water and electric current.
The characteristics of this system make it particularly suitable for disinfection applications in large circulation systems and highly contaminated water (e.g., germ). Especially notable about this method is its reduced chlorine requirement.
This allows water disinfection to be independent of chlorine manufacturers and also the well-known risks of chlorine handling, storage and transport.

| Disinfection of mobile drinking water supplies for ships, trains and planes Drinking water storage in water tanks of mobile applications such as ships is associated with hygienic problems. In particular to refill with water from an unkown source and quality poses a serious health risk. Drinking water is often stored in in tanks made of cheaper plastics such as GFK, PVC etc. These plastics contain organic substances which are released into the water and serve as nutrients for bacteria and algae.
The continuous mechanical cleaning and disinfection with expensive and harmful chemicals is only a short term remedy and allows no lasting protection against recontamination. This can lead to rapid growth and reproduction of bacteria and algae especially in regions with hot climate.
A simple and secure method for the disinfection of the drinking water in storage tanks is the e-dis mobile.
The e-dis mobile is simply integrated into a circulation of the water tank. By means of electrolysis and special electrodes disinfectant based on oxygen and chlorine is formed from the natural water ingredients. This disinfection potential has been proven to be much more effective against Legionella and other germs than regular chlorine dosing.

Legionella are resistant against increasingly higher temperatures in fact epidemiological risk exists at temperatures higher than 60°C.
Biofilms in piping represent a food resource for Legionella and even thermal treatment can not reduce biofilms as the root of the Legionella problem (on the contrary: thermal treatment aggravates the lime and biofilm problem).
Amoeba serve as breeding place and protection shield for Legionella and bursting Amoeba lead to a sudden increase in the Legionella concentration.
Tap lines are highly contaminated with Legionella which makes a frequent flushing of tap lines with disinfected or hot water necessary.
