| IBAK – IFAT Press Release 2008 More than 50 years ago - and thus many years before our later competitors - IBAK Helmut Hunger GmbH & Co. KG introduced the sewer TV camera KF 1. IBAK - then a pioneer and today still the world's biggest manufacturer with a turnover of more than 30 million € - is the first address for sewer inspection technology. This year, too, IBAK is showing interesting new products at the IFAT in Munich. IBAK PANORAMO SI The 3D Optoscanner uses two high resolution digital cameras with specially designed distortion-free wide-angle lenses. These optically scan the entire interior of the manhole in a few seconds in one single vertical run. The image data is transmitted digitally to the inspection van and is at the operator's disposal as a live picture for orientation purposes or is available after saving as a "PANORAMO film" of the whole manhole. The condition of the manhole is then assessed in the office by expert personnel. (Of course, on-the-spot analysis is also possible). Unlike a video film from a conventional pan and rotate camera which only shows the section of view saved at the time of filming, the IBAK PANORAMO SI viewer software provides an all-round inspection of the manhole, just as if the inspector were on site with a real pan and rotate camera. He can stop at any position in the manhole, do a 360° pan, zoom, perform an image capture and complete the analysis data. Simultaneously, an unfolded view of the inner surface of the manhole can be generated. This gives a rapid overview of the condition of the structure and enables the user to measure the position and size of objects with the aid of the computer. The IBAK Sewer Analysis Software IKAS 32 PANORAMO SI manhole inspection option is available for further analysis. But the "PANORAMO SI film files“ can of course also be handed over directly to the client or transmitted to external information systems on data media without analysis data. The manhole inspection camera IBAK PANORAMO SI can be operated both as an extension to an IBAK sewer TV system with a PANORAMO camera cable, a BS 5 display and control unit and a KW305 cable winch or as an autonomous system in a small van with a short camera cable and a small cable winch. The overwhelming resonance already met with by the PANORAMO SI during practical field trials clearly shows the great importance now laid upon manhole inspection (which hitherto could only be performed automatically using complicated equipment) by many operators of sewer systems. IBAK PANORAMO IBAK Control Box BK 3.5 All functions of the camera carriage and the camera can be controlled and operated with the two joysticks, the control buttons and the integrated keyboard. At the same time, the operating statuses of the individual system components are clearly indicated on a 5.7“ colour display. The actual inspection is monitored from a "12 TFT monitor with excellent picture reproduction which is installed in the lid to ensure user-friendliness. In addition, texts and symbols can be overlaid on the video picture via the keyboard and an integrated data display generator. Optionally, the BK 3.5 control box can also be equipped with a PC module. This makes it IKAS 32 capable and permits a complete analysis of the condition of the inspected sewer to be performed on site (please refer to the IKAS 32 brochure for functions and data interfaces). For clear menu guidance, the IBAK IKAS 32 BK Edition software includes a specially optimised analysis assistant which enables the parallel display of the video image and software dialogues on the screen. The video images can be digitised in MPEG 1 or MPEG 2 format. Furthermore, the PC module has a connection facility for an external mouse and data transfer to a USB stick. Digitisation in MPEG 4 SP format and transfer of the data to a memory card are possible without an integrated PC. The firmware for the box and the power pack and therefore also the hardware programming updates can be installed by the user with the aid of a standard SD card. All units that could be operated from the predecessor model BK3.1 can also be connected to the BK3.5. IBAK ORION LASER
