Frohnleiten. Komptech, the Austrian-German specialist in the treatment of solid waste and biomass, will be showcasing its new general-purpose “Chippo 5000 direct“ shredder at the “Forst Live 2009“ forestry exhibition being held from 3rd to 5th April 2009 in Offenburg. The new model is a mounted variant driven directly from the lorry. A TGS chassis from MAN delivers a drive power of 484HP/320kW. The full engine power is available to the mounted shredding unit via a special transmission system developed especially for this purpose.
The feed system with horizontal and vertical rollers guarantees uniform feed. Even loose shrubbery is seized reliably and fed to the chipper rotor pre-compressed. Lightweight material is hacked with high drum speed. Together with the immediate-action, load-dependent feed controller, considerably higher throughputs can be attained compared to chippers of similar design.
For the hacking of wood trunks, a lower speed gearing with more torque is selected at the press of a button and discharge is selected via an optional conveyor belt (available from end of May 2009). This discharge variant guarantees homogenous, pelletised wood chippings and at the same time requires less power to discharge. The bottom line is perfect wood chip quality at the lowest price.
The operator of the Chippo sits in the comfortable lorry cab on the converted passenger seat. The large window panes provide the operator a perfect view, enabling full concentration on working with the powerful Epsilon crane.
The large rotor diameter of 1050mm makes possible an inlet opening of 750 x 1000mm. If this is not adequate, the fold-out wood splitter mounted on the lorry is called into play.
With all of these features, the “Chippo 5000 direct“ is a compact general-purpose talent that is hard to beat in terms of mobility, working comfort and cost-effectiveness.

Frohnleiten/Oelde. Komptech, the Austro-German specialists in the treatment of solid waste and wood biomass, showcases its machine innovations and enhancements to existing models at the IFAT 2008 International Trade Fair for Water, Sewage, Refuse and Recycling. The world’s largest fair for environment and disposal is taking place from May 4th-9th 2008 at the exhibition centre in Munich. More than 2200 exhibitors from 36 countries are expected.
Komptech will be showing mobile and stationary machines on stand 403/502 in Hall C2, amongst them the Topturn X67 compost turning machine, the Terminator XF shredder for all types of waste (model with direct drive) and the single-shaft Rasor 5400 post-shredder.
Running at the same time as IFAT are the VDMA “Biomass treatment“ demo days in the area outside Hall C2. The new universal Chippo 500 hacker is at the centre of Komptech demonstrations. Furthermore, and in keeping with the biomass theme, the specialist machine for the treatment of forest wood residue, the Crambo Forest, the star screen machines Multistar L3 and Multistar M2 with integrated wind sifter, and the Mustang E drum screen machine are being shown in use.
Komptech was able to substantially increase revenues for 2007: Growth to €85m means an increase of above 20% over the previous year. Together with excellent profitability, 2007 has been the most successful year in the history of the company. The company employs a total of more than 480 people at nine locations in six countries.

| Stationary ballistic separator BRINI separators are used to separate out usable fractions from waste and potential recyclables. By combining ballistic separation with screening, separation is performed in one operation in accordance with the criteria 3/2-dimensional, rolling-cubic-rigid/flat-soft-narrow, or undersized/oversized particles. With a choice of separation into three or four fractions and light, standard and heavy-duty designs in five sizes, the BRINI separator can be configured to suit the application.
