Orwak has environmental as well as working environmental issues at heart! Low noise levels are a prioritized question for us and due to new hydraulics we have achieved very satisfying results in our latest product development! Two years ago Orwak introduced “the silent family” - a line of balers with a low noise level. The family has grown from the original three members to the current seven.
Pleasant working environment
A silent operation contributes to a good working environment for employees and plays an important role when the baler is placed in an environment close to the customer.
By investing in a quietly running baler there are several advantages to gain:
- Helps you meet the legal obligations and fulfil your responsibility as an employer
- Contributes to a healthy and an attractive working environment for employees
- Offers convenient compaction at source close to customers without causing disturbance
As quiet as the human voice
Model 3410 has a noise level of only 59.5 dB, which can be put into perspective when knowing that the sound level of an ordinary conversation is about 55-60 dB. 55 dB is the approximate recommended level in environments where tasks like assembly, packaging and sorting are performed. The low noise level is however not the only advantage, thus the silent family has several other valuable new features to offer!
Fast running balers
The silent family is an efficient partner in waste compaction and due to new technology; the cycle time is reduced considerably compared with the predecessors. The shorter cycle time saves several valuable seconds per cycle as it lets the operator start reloading the baler quicker.
Cardboard or plastic? A flexible choice!
All the new balers are equipped with a material selector, which makes it easy to change the setting between cardboard (high pressure) and plastic foil (low pressure). Model 3105 is especially adapted to soft plastic. Thus when the baler is in the “plastic mode” the press plate stays down and keeps the material under pressure for some additional seconds for a more effective compaction.
Lightweight or commercial bales
The balers in the silent family display a broad capacity range in press force and thereby a variety of options in terms of bale size and bale weight to meet your demands! The smallest balers, Orwak 3105 and 3110, are perfect for small amounts of waste and they produce light bales, which are easily handled with Orwak’s bale trolley. For large volumes of recyclable packaging material, Orwak 3610, our strongest front loaded baler, provides powerful compaction of the material into dense commercial bales. The bales weigh up to
Automatic door and autostart
An automatic sliding door and autostart are standard features on the three largest balers Orwak 3410-SD, 3610 and 3810. The autostart function allows the baler to start compacting the material as soon as the operator closes the door and the sliding door opens automatically after each completed cycle. These features are perfect in environments where large amounts of waste are generated continuously or where boxes and other packaging material easily pile up at certain peaks - for example Monday mornings in a supermarket store. The door is always open for more material! The little twins, model 3105 and 3110, are also equipped with autostart as standard.

Leader in compaction and baling solutions
Orwak is a world leader in compaction, baling and briquetting solutions for solid waste material at source. Ever since 1971 we have concentrated on doing what we do best: designing, developing and manufacturing high-performance systems that have set the standard for cost-effective solid waste recycling or disposal. Orwak offers a comprehensive range of waste compactors, balers and Brickman briquetting presses, which contributes to making waste management more profitable.
We are a Swedish company with representatives located around the world. Orwak is wholly owned by Tomra, a leading global player in providing integrated solutions for recovering and recycling used packaging.
Our company is truly dedicated to environmental care. It is the reason why we exist! In a world of commerce that generates mountains of waste material, our solutions represent an indispensable link at the very beginning of the waste management chain. Orwak’s compaction, baling and briquetting solutions make a significant contribution to efficient waste management, sustainable business practices, the wellbeing of employees and the compliance with environmental regulations. The benefits gained in each of these areas ultimately translate into financial rewards that make compaction at source a very worthwhile investment. Orwak’s ten times less gives you ten times more!
In 2007 Orwak introduced “the silent family” – three new balers! One significant feature of the new models is the silent operation with a noise level of only 59.5 dB (A) for model 3410. To put those figures into perspective, the sound level of a normal conversation is 55 dB and that is the approximate recommended sound level in an environment, where tasks like assembly, packaging and sorting are performed. In spring 2008 Orwak introduced another new feature! Two models with sliding door now come with an autostart function as a standard. It allows the balers to start compacting the material when the door closes. The sliding door and the autostart offer yet another advantage in environments where large amounts of waste are generated or where the baler is operated intensely during a specific time of the day.
